Real Spooky Stories: Here’s What Happened At Forest Lawn Cemetery in California
Updated 2/10/2020 – “I’ve tried explaining what had happened to me over and over again, but it seemed like no one could understand me.
As a matter of fact, I myself had some trouble understanding what had occurred a month ago.
You see, we were playing a game of truth or dare with my college mates.
I was paired with Emily and she dared me to go to the Forest Lawn Cemetery at night.
I should have known better.
I was so naïve.
By the time I realized that, it was too late.
I was already too deep into the freaking cemetery to quit.
And besides, what could possibly happen to me among some tombstones?
At first the darkness overwhelmed me and I could see nothing.
Then my eyes adjusted a little and the stones appeared all around me like scattered shadows some taller than the others.
Beyond the Gravestones
All spooky stories I’d read were nothing in comparison to this strange feeling ripping my gut.
The world I knew was gone – nothing behind me and nothing in front.
I could hear the ground crackling beneath my soles as I made my way around this place.
There was a sound.
I turned frantically.
At first I thought it may be some of my friends, but oh how little did I know.
In an instant all hairs on my body stood on end.
I shivered and it wasn’t from the cold.
I sensed that I wasn’t alone.
It was a feeling I couldn’t and still can’t put into words.
Suddenly, someone brushed against me.
As if running.
“What the heck?” I thought.
Slowly turning around, I was shocked to see the earth before one of the graves moving.
Like someone was digging it from underground.
Of course I ran as far as my feet could carry me, cursing Emily and that bloody cemetery.
Panting, I realized that that wasn’t all.
A disturbing noise was chasing after me.
I tripped and fell on the wet grass.
My heart was racing like crazy.
The shrieks were getting only louder.
Closer with each minute.
And then came the fog.
It made me jump on my feet again.
I took a deep breath and hid behind the closest tombstone.
Thank God it was a tall one.
I prayed for it to end.
I rubbed my eyes.
This was insane.
Even more insane were the figures emerging from the dense fog.
Their faces looked like skulls, and they were carrying flowers.
My blood froze, but luckily my feet didn’t.
I sprinted out of that haunted place in seconds and locked myself inside the safety of my small Volvo.
The moment I got home I spent the night researching.
Dear old Google revealed some stories, one of which happened in the 80’s in the exact cemetery.
I wasn’t alone in this after all.
Has anyone else experienced something like this?”
